(RESTOULE, ON) – Twelve drivers have been charged with impaired driving offences by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the month of July 2025. One of those individuals was arrested after an OPP officer observed signs of alcohol consumption from an individual at a business in Restoule.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., an officer from the North Bay OPP observed a person inside a business on Highway 534 in Restoule who appeared to have consumed alcohol. The officer gathered evidence indicating the individual had recently operated a motor vehicle. The person was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result, Kenneth DEWEVER, 52 years-of-age from Golden Valley, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Additionally, the individual received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Whether you are impaired by alcohol or drugs, impaired is impaired. Driving under the influence of either is a criminal offence and poses a serious risk to public safety.
