(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with an Impaired driving offence following an incident on June 9th, 2025, in the Municipality of Central Huron.
Just after 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 9th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers met an individual at the Huron County OPP Detachment office on Albert Street in Clinton for an unrelated matter.
Officers discovered that the individual had been drinking alcohol prior to driving to the OPP detachment, and they were subsequently arrested for impaired operation. The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.
Joseph SWITZER, 42 years of age from Goderich, has been charged with:
– Operation while Impaired – Over 80.
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 21st, 2025.
