(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) -Suspicious vehicle leads to impaired charge.
On June 8, 2025, at 10:26 a.m., members of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Chippewa Road in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation for the report of a suspicious vehicle.
The vehicle was located stationary on Chippewa Road at which time a traffic stop was initiated. The driver was placed under arrest.
As a result, Roscoe STURGEON, a 43-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
· Operation while impaired – Drugs
· Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 7, 2025.
The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
