Robert CAREY – Impaired Driving

(KENORA, ON) – Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) has led to one driver being charged for Impaired Operation.

On April 21, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. program which included MAS on Norman Drive, in Norman.

Robert CAREY, 41-years-old, from Keewatin, Ontario failed the roadside screening and has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on May 22, 2025.
