On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at approximately 7:15 a.m., police responded to a call for a Personal Injury Collision in the Blakemanor Road and Markham Road area.
It is reported that:
- an 84-year-old man was driving a gray 2012 Ford pick-up truck northbound on Markham Road
- a 16-year-old girl was struck by the truck as she crossed Markham Road from the eastside to the westside of the street
- the girl was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries
- the driver remained on scene
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.
Police are asking local residents, business and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
