Fireworks

On May 17th Barrie Police responded to numerous complaints of fireworks being shot off throughout the City. Under Barrie Bylaw, 2010/036, (available online), the use of fireworks is permitted on the Victoria Day weekend. However, there are specific conditions under which the fireworks can be set off.
Fireworks cannot be used on city streets, parks or anywhere where they would constitute a dangerous situation. Common sense should guide residents on the when and where usage of fireworks.
Barrie Police remind residents to use common sense and respect for your neighbours when using fireworks. In addition, Barrie Police remind residents, Noise bylaws remain in effect as well.
