At 11:45 p.m. last night an officer saw a pick-up truck travelling southbound on Lacroix Street in a fast and erratic manner. The officer recorded the vehicle was travelling 82km/h in the 50km/h zone. A traffic stop was conducted to investigate the driver. Based on observations made by the officer, a roadside screening test was conducted and the driver provided a sample of breath in the warm range. Further investigation revealed the driver was unlicensed, and the vehicle validation was expired.

A 39-year-old Chatham man has been charged with speeding, driving without a licence, driving a motor vehicle with expired validation, and failing to surrender insurance. He was also issued a 3-day licence suspension for alcohol consumption, and the vehicle was towed from the road.
