(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service attended a fatal single motor vehicle collision involving a race car at the Capital City Speedway at 2001 Speedway Drive, in Ottawa. The collision occurred at approximately 10:46pm.
At the time of the collision the race track was operational, though it was closed during the investigation. The track was then turned over to the track supervisor.
A 57 year-old male driver was transported by Ottawa Paramedics to an area hospital with life threatening injuries.
The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.
Ottawa Police Collision Investigators attended the scene and are conducting an investigation into this collision.
