(GODERICH, ON) – An 18 year old male is facing a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking following a traffic stop in Goderich.
Just after 2:30 p.m. on May 27, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol heard loud music blaring from a black Saturn SL2 sedan that was travelling on West Street toward Courthouse Square.
The driver was stopped on Hamilton Street for the excessive noise violation and while speaking with the driver the officer observed marihuana inside the vehicle compartment.
The driver was immediately arrested and searched. A search incident to arrest located several items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
As a result, the 18 year old driver, Troy CHAGNON, from Central Huron has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana) for the Purposes of Trafficking contrary to section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 28, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
