(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Sunday June 08, 2014, shortly after 8 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was driving southbound on Perth Road 130 south of Sebringville when a fast moving north bound minivan was observed.
The officer utilized police radar and determined that the minivan was travelling at 139 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was pulled over and the 18 year old female driver, a Stratford resident was issued a summons for the offence of “race a motor vehicleâ€Â.
On Tuesday June 10, 2014, around 3:30 a.m. a Volkswagen was observed travelling south bound on Hwy 7 near Perth Line 20 at a high rate of speed. A Perth County OPP officer locked the vehicle’s speed in on radar at 134 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The 21 year old male driver, a Zorra Twp resident was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicleâ€Â.
Both drivers had their driver’s licences suspended and their vehicles impounded for seven days. The will both be appearing at the Stratford Court of Justice on June 24, 2014, to answer to their charge.
