(ST.MARYS, ON) On Friday June 13, 2014, around 10 a.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer in a low visibility cruiser was observing the flow of traffic at the intersection of Queen St. East and Church St. South in St.Marys.
The officer observed a fully loaded west bound dump truck on Queen St. East proceed to drive through a red light at the Church St. intersection. The officer pulled over the truck and spoke with the male driver. The officer detected the odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath and subsequently administered a roadside breath test on the Township of Perth South resident. This resulted in a 3 day loss of his driving privileges and he has been charged with “red light – fail to stopâ€Â.
