A Bicycle Can Be Stolen In Seconds

(ST.MARYS, ON) A 13 year old St.Marys male discovered that it takes only seconds for a bike to be stolen.

On Saturday June 14, 2014, the male contacted a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer to report the theft of his bicycle. He advised that at 1:30 p.m., he had left his bicycle in front of the VIDEO 99 variety store along Queen St. East while he was inside. When walking out the store a few minutes later he discovered that his bike had been stolen.

Description of the bike:

– A white youth BMX framed bike

– Blue handlebars with blue hand grips

– White walled tires

– Rear tire is a “slick”

– Has blue pedals

Anyone having information about this theft is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000

Bicycle owners are reminded to lock their bicycles to solid objects when leaving them in public places. Locking sheds and garages where bicycles are stored will also make it less desirable for bicycle thieves. Copy down your bicycle serial number and description, this will assist in identifying and possibly returning the bike to you.
