(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) � In early 2024, the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an investigation into drug trafficking through-out the District of Muskoka.

On March 20th and 21st, 2024, with the assistance of theCentral Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Orillia Community Street Crime Unit, and Bracebridge Detachment officers, investigators executed five search warrants, two in the Town of Bracebridge and three withinthe City of Toronto. As a result of the investigation, police seized a quantity of fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, various prescription medications, a large quantity of cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.The estimated street value of the drugs seized is in excess of $300,000.

As a result of the investigation, the following accused were arrested and face the following charges:

Daniel Shemar JOHNSON (24 years old, of Toronto)

� Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under$5,000, CC 354(1)(a) x2

Abria ATKINSON (23 years old, of Toronto):

� Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

� Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x2

� Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under$5,000, CC 354(1)(a)

Jerrett DIRK (43 years old, of Gravenhurst)

� Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

� Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2)

� Fail to Comply with Release Order, CC 145(5)(a)

JOHNSON was held in custody for a bail hearing on the20th day of March 2024 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, and subsequently released to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario on April 23rd, 2024.

ATKINSON and DIRK were released from custody to attend Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario onApril 23rd, 2024.
