More Drunk Drivers Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) � Three individuals have been charged following an investigation into separate incidents of impaired driving.

At approximately 6:36 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 3 in Delhi, Norfolk County.

Shortly thereafter, patrolling officers conducted a vehicle stop and investigation at a location on Church Street East in Delhi, Norfolk County.

After assessing the driver�s sobriety at the roadside, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 27-year-old Philip STRATTON of Port Colborne, Ontario:

Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Around 11:43 p.m. on the same day, an officer from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment conducted a vehicle stop and investigation at a location on Pinegrove Road in Charlotteville, Norfolk County.

After assessing the driver�s sobriety at the roadside, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

While searching the driver and the vehicle, officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, as well as Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 23-year-old Harley VAN DAMME of Norfolk County:

Operation while impaired � alcohol and drugs,
Failure or refusal to comply with demand,
Drive motor vehicle � no licence,
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � cocaine,
Fail to comply with Probation Order.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Around 11:56 p.m. on the same day, an officer from the Norfolk County OPP Detachment conducted a vehicle stop and investigation on at a location on Queensway East in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

After assessing the driver�s sobriety at the roadside, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 33-year-old Derek MAYO of Norfolk County:

Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
Drive without proper headlights � motor vehicle,
Drive wrong way � one-way traffic.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.
