(OTTAWA, ON) � Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Ottawa Detachment, have laid multiple charges against a driver from Gatineau, after vehicle entered a ditch along Highway 416.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on April 20 2024, OPP officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision along Highway 416 near Hunt Club. The vehicle had also struck a tree.
The driver, Kaitlind Smith, age 31, was arrested for impaired driving and has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Operation While Impaired: Alcohol and Drugs
Operation While Prohibited Under the Criminal Code � three counts
Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
Obstruct Peace Officer
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
