(WEST NIPISSING, ON) � A driver was charged with impaired driving after police conducted a traffic stop.

On April 18, 2024, shortly after 1:30 a.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop with a possible impaired driver on Main Street, West Nipissing.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick LAFLEUR, 22 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired � alcohol and drugs.

The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 2, 2024, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver�s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
