More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) � Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers with impaired driving.
On April 16, 2024, shortly before 11:00 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received multiple traffic complaints of a vehicle failing to maintain its lane on Highway 401 eastbound. Police located and stopped the vehicle just before the County Road 41 exit. Police arrested the driver for impaired driving.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Raviendran SOMASUNDARAM, age 57, of Scarborough, with:
Operation while impaired � alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date. The accused�s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On April 16, 2024, shortly before 10:00 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a vehicle that was all over the road before it pulled into a business at County Road 41 and Community Road . Police attended the scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged John BABULA, age 64, of North Frontenac Township, with:
Operation while impaired � alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 7, 2024. The accused�s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
