Homicide In Thorndale - Names Released

(MIDDLESEX OPP) - On Tuesday May 26, 2020, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), as well as the Middlesex OPP Major Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services entered into a death investigation at a home on Leesboro Trail in Thorndale, Ontario.

At the time, police located one deceased male within the home. A post mortem examination confirmed the male died as a result of a homicide. The homicide victim has been identified as Sean COLLINS, 27 years old, of Thorndale.

On Thursday May 28, 2020, members of the Rocky Mountain House Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to a deceased male who was located in the North Saskatchewan River, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

As a result of the police investigation it is believed that the male died as a result of drowning. The deceased male has been identified as Alexander COLLINS, 30 years of age, of Thorndale, Ontario.

Police believe there is no risk to the public at this time.

The Middlesex County OPP Major Crime Unit under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are working jointly with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Major Crime Unit in Alberta on this homicide investigation and police are encouraging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
