(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that occurred last weekend near Holmesville.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on March 20, 2020 a Huron OPP officer stopped a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that was travelling in a field near Tipperary Line. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. As such an approved screening device was utilized and the driver produced a roadside sample of breath that resulted in a fail.
The driver was promptly placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tests were determined to be above the legal limit.
Heather PICKETT, 42 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus). She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 1, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
