(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On January 17, 2020 at approximately 3:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft at a consignment/thrift store on St. David Street North in Fergus.
Investigation revealed that at approximately 2:00 p.m. an unknown person attended the business and removed one of two backpacks from the store that were on display and not for sale. The person placed the item in a shopping cart, exited the store and took it to their pick-up truck. They returned to the store a short while later and attempted to take the second backpack however, was advised by a store employee that the item was for auction not for sale.
