Fatal Collision North Of Brussels Update - Deceased Identified

(HURON EAST, ON) - A devastating multi-vehicle crash that has claimed the life of a Sauble Beach man remains under investigation by police.
Just before 8:00 p.m. on December 5, 2019 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County Paramedic Services and Huron East Fire Department responded to a four-vehicle crash located at the Jamestown Bridge on Brussels Line (Huron County Road #12).
The preliminary investigation has determined a compact car was eastbound on Jamestown Road when it entered into the controlled intersection at Brussels Line (Huron County Road #12) and collided with a tractor-trailer that was travelling southbound on Brussels Line. The tractor-trailer then collided with the bridge and a northbound pickup truck. A northbound sport-utility vehicle then collided with the rear of the pickup truck.
A passenger in the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as 62-year-old Jamie HILL from Sauble Beach.
The driver of the pickup, 21-year-old Liam FLETCHER from Sauble Beach remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The other involved drivers all sustained minor injuries.
Members from the Huron County OPP Detachment and West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate.
