Early Morning Dispute Leaves One Dead - Second Degree Murder Charge Laid

(TOWN OF MONO, ON) - On November 1, 2019 at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Dufferin County Paramedic Service (DCPS) attended a residence on Hurontario Street in the Town of Mono after receiving reports of a dispute.
Taranjit SINGH, 50-years-old, was located deceased at the scene.
OPP have arrested and charged Anmol SAGGU, 27-years-old, from Brampton with:
Second degree murder;
Assault; and with
Fail to comply with probation order.
The accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 2, 2019 and was remanded into custody. A publication ban has been imposed by the court and no further information will be released at this time.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Dufferin/Caledon OPP Crime Unit under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Kevin Connor of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
