Officer Takes Evasive Action To Avoid Head On Collision With Transport Truck - 34 Year Old From Teeswater Charged

(LISTOWEL, ON) - On Friday August 16, 2019 at approximately 12:45 p.m., a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), North Perth detachment was driving a fully marked OPP cruiser westbound on Perth Line 86, east of Listowel when they had to take evasive action to avoid a head on collision with an eastbound transport truck that had veered into the westbound lane.
The officer observed that traffic behind the cruiser were swerving onto the westbound shoulder to avoid the transport.
The police officer turned around and conducted a traffic stop.
Josh CORDES, 34-years-old of Teeswater was charged with careless driving and was issued a Provincial Offence Notice (PON).
The incident remains under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed anything is asked to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
