Fatal Collision North Of Stratford - Names Released

(PERTH EAST, ON) - On May 16, 2019 at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and Perth East Fire Department responded to the scene of a collision that occurred on Perth Line 42 at Road 122, just north of Stratford. The collision involved a Pontiac minivan and a Ford SUV.
The minivan was traveling east on Perth Line 42, while the SUV was traveling south on Road 122.
The male driver of the minivan, Jason SATCHELL 44-years-old, of the Municipality of West Perth was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The female driver of the SUV, Melissa KREYGER, 53-years-old, of the Township of Perth East was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation continues with the support of the OPP Traffic Technical Collision Investigators (TTCI). Charges will be reviewed upon completion of the investigation.
The intersection remains closed as hydro crews work to repair a damaged pole.
