(ORILLIA, ON) - Members of the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), are seeking the public's assistance to help piece together the events that led to an infant sustaining serious injuries in Orillia, Ontario.

On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, police responded to a 9-1-1 call for an 11-month-old infant male who was in medical distress in the area of Birch Street in Orillia, Ontario. The infant was transported to a hospital in Orillia before being airlifted by Ornge to Toronto.

Between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on March 20, 2019, police believe the infant was dressed in a lime green jacket and navy blue snow pants while transported with three other young children by a female care-provider in a unique four-seat stroller to a school on George Street in Orillia.

During this time, two unidentified adult females approached the care-provider and enquired about the infant's wellbeing. These witnesses may hold important information and are asked to contact police.

The infant may have been in the following areas in the City of Orillia between March 19 and 20, 2019:

Gill Street
Peter Street North
Birch Street
Barrie Road
Lexington Avenue
Westmount Drive North
George Street
