Fatal Pedestrian Collision Closes Hwy 6

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On the May 13, 2019 at 12:39 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 6 between Maplewood Crescent and Spencer Street, Shallow Lake, Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Grey Bruce OPP officers arrived at the scene with members of Inter-Township Fire Department and Grey County Paramedics. A pedestrian was transported to hospital with vital signs absent.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
OPP continue to investigate the fatal motor vehicle collision. OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are attending the scene to assist Grey Bruce OPP with this investigation.
Highway 6 remains closed between Stoneman Drive, at the north and Grey Road 170, at the south in Shallow Lake. If you are travelling in the area you with have to seek an alternate route until further notice.
The driver of the car was transported to hospital with injuries.
