72 Year Old Shoplifter Arrested In Exeter - Name Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A 72-year-old from Zurich will be making a trip to court later this month following a charge laid against him for shoplifting.
On April 1, 2019 at lunch time Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a grocery store located on Thames Street in Exeter to investigate a shoplifting incident.
Subsequent police investigation revealed a male had entered into the grocery store and did some grocery shopping. He then proceeded to leave the store with a grocery cart and a load of stolen food items. After loading up his vehicle he returned to the store where he proceeded to steal an additional item.
Officers were successful in identifying the shoplifter and he was arrested and released on April 2, 2019. Frank FERNIE, 72 years of age from Zurich has been charged with Theft Under $5,000. His court date is scheduled for May 30, 2019 in Exeter.
