Aerial Enforcement Used To Spot Stunt Driver

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - On December 8, 2018, at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Middlesex Detachment, OPP Aviation Services and the West Region (WR) Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team were conducting aerial enforcement on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
A vehicle was observed travelling at a speed greater than 155 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, 26-year-old female, Chizaram UKASAONYA of London, Ontario was charged for Drive motor vehicle - Perform stunt - Speeding by 50 or more km/hr. The driver received a seven (7) driver's licence suspension and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven (7) days.
A court appearance is scheduled for January 14, 2019.
