Fire In Mount Forest - Patrick David McDERMOTT Charged

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - Today at approximately 5:50 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Wellington North Fire Services and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services responded to an apartment fire on Egremont Street North in Mount Forest. The fire was contained to a single unit in the ten unit complex. A 32-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with burns to his hand. All residents have been evacuated and there is currently no set time for their return.
Damages are estimated at $100,000.
32-year-old Patrick David McDERMOTT of Mount Forest has been charged with Arson by Negligence and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on January 18, 2019.
