(Huron-Kinloss, ON) - A female driver is facing a charge of Refuse to Provide Breath Sample following a traffic stop that occurred on October 27, 2018 in Huron-Kinloss Township.
Just before 5:30 p.m. on October 27, 2018 South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to patrol for a possible impaired driver in the Huron-Kinloss area. The vehicle was located by police travelling on Hwy 21 in Huron-Kinloss. A member of the South Bruce OPP conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the driver, the officer formed the opinion that she was under the influence of alcohol. The driver refused to provide a sample of breath into a roadside screening device when demanded.
Kelly Mackinnon, a 40-year-old from Kincardine, Ontario, was placed under arrest and was subsequently charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample. She has since been released with a court appearance scheduled for November 21, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton. Her driver's licence was suspended for an automatic 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
